Chicago. the doodles made me laugh.

Nevada/California border

humourous.

driving into downtown sanfran

setup

my friend Angela [Peru B 2001]

9,000 chairs to be set up. yikes.

I remember driving this street in a computer game. crazy.

SBC Park. or AT&T Park. Depending on who you ask.

The Bay Bridge

and again.

a forest of sailboat masts.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

more boats.

some random monument and the Bay Bridge.

the night before it all happened

Cameron Luce and this guy were having chair-lifting competitions.

my first trolly picture!

they're really not that exciting though.

looking up the hill.

I thought the trees were more interesting.

city hall

our signs

the rally... and the protesters.

I felt sorry for the kid holding the sign upside down after I took the picture.

we had too many people to fit on the steps of city hall, so the rest stayed on the other side of the street.

Ron speaks at City Hall

city officials come see what all the commotion is about. they didn't like us, because they assume any Christian group must be about the right-wing agenda. oh well.

Ron continues to speak

and speak some more.

the steps of city hall...

...and across the street.

spontaneous prayer sessions...

and courageous kids.

"the trench."

yeah. craziness.

the doors prepare to open...

everyone cheers...

and they're open!

twenty-five thousand pour into the stadium.

it rained Friday night.

...and rained.

yet somewhere around 3-4,000 came down and kneeled in the water at the altar call.

it was an incredible moment.

Saturday...

was...

better.

Kemtal wowed them with his MCing.

Who says Canadians are no fun? :o)

the end of a successful weekend.

met up with Tim Johnson [Peru A 2004]

and Courtney Feldman [Peru A 2004 too]

...and then I flew to LA.

goodbye sanfran.

[oh, and I never understood why the golden gate was more popular than the bay bridge. after all, it's smaller... and red. so? red makes it popular?? :oP]

I'm told this mountain is Mount Baldy. I wonder why...

landing in LA [ok, technically it was Ontario, California, but still...]

This is Deanna [Peru A 2003, Sri Lanka A 2005, Hong Kong A 2006]. I hung out with her and her family for a couple days.

...and took really scary pictures of myself.

Lauren [Deanna's sister] being silly.

Myself and Deanna on the pier at Santa Monica

then we [including her mom and Lauren] went on a ferris wheel. fun times.

yup.

...and then she reached her hand behind my head...

...and smacked me!

Santa Monica

the pier.

the ducks.

the barnacles.

the family. [Deanna, her mom, Lauren] in goofy sunglasses. nice.

Lauren and Deanna on a cannon.

me IN a cannon.

more Santa Monica.

Deanna, me, Lauren. and palm trees.

went to chili's for supper before leaving. I love chili's. and I loved this sign.

flew home. glen eden on our final approach.

christian groups are right wing.

Dear Anonymous,
In deciding to comment on my photoblog, you've revealed a number of things about yourself and your mindset:
[1] You're misinformed at best, ignorant at worst.
Not all Christian groups are right wing, and even among those who are, not all of them promote the right wing political agenda. In fact there are many who are very left wing. Take Reverend Jesse Jackson, for example. Just one of many who fall on the left side of the fence and therefore invalidate your blanket statement.
[2] You're afraid of being identified at best, cowardly at worst.
If you're going to come onto my photoblog and make a political blanket statement like that, at least have the courage to put your name. Failure to do so will result in you being seen as a coward.
[3] You apparently don't have better things to do with your time than to make rash, illogical, inaccurate blanket statements on other peoples' websites.
I'm sorry you haven't found a better hobby yet. Good luck trying though.
Sorry if this comes across as harsh, but I've never been good at candy-coating things. Have a good day.
